EastHeat Project

It’s been a busy time on the EastHeat project, with installs moving very quickly now
Installation of the Sunamp Heat Batteries at the first sheltered housing complex have been completed and, although it’s too early to report on the energy savings, the feedback from tenants on comfort and warmth have been very positive. We have a festive tenant meeting on Friday the 18th December and we’ll be working with the tenants over the coming months to tailor the heating to their individual needs
The proposed changes to the feed in tariff have sent solar installers into a frenzy and our partners at Edison Energy are no exception, they have been working long hours to get as many installs completed as possible, before the changes take effect. If Santa is reading this you might have difficulty parking on roofs in Edinburgh and East Lothian this year, as Edison will be working throughout the holidays.
R3 have been busy both installing PV and the Sunamp Heat Batteries in homes in East Lothian and we are currently working on the program for next year, with another Castle Rock sheltered Housing complex due for completion in January 2016.
So as we look to kick 2015 behind us, Sunamp want to say a big thank you to the Local Energy Challenge Fund for making all this possible. To the EastHeat tenants, thank you for your patience and please complete your consent forms to get free electricity and hot water in 2016, as this is a limited offer.
Finally, to all our install teams, Edison Energy, Sunamp, R3 and Home Response, thank you for doing such a fantastic job and giving 100% to the project. Please use the holiday break to relax and recharge your batteries (excuse the pun) because there will be a lot more work for you as we kick off 2016
