Sunamp is the only thermal battery manufacturer in the world to be awarded RAL Certification, the only global standard for Phase Change Material and PCM products. It confirms the performance of our flagship Plentigrade P58 material with no noticeable degradation to 10,000 cycles in the Thermino product – the equivalent of over 13 years of daily use.

Sunamp’s Plentigrade phase change materials were developed through an award-winning collaboration with the University of Edinburgh’s School of Chemistry. The partnership received the Royal Society of Chemistry’s 2022 Industry–Academia Collaboration Award for developing and commercialising novel PCM formulations for heat storage.

Engineered for integration

Plentigrade PCMs are designed from the application backwards to work in real heat batteries. We’ve built in materials compatibility and nucleation control for predictable cycling.

 

 

 

Tested at Diamond Light Source

Our PCMs are rigorously tested in-situ at the UK’s national synchrotron, Diamond Light Source, using high-intensity X-rays to watch crystallisation and phase change as it happens. Those insights directly inform our nucleation control and materials compatibility work. This is why Plentigrade PCMS are stable & reliable.
