Monday, 4 August 2025: The founders of Sunamp have stepped down from their executive roles at the multi award winning thermal storage technology company. Andrew Bissell has transitioned from CEO to a non-executive Board Director role. Former chief strategy officer Grant Richardson has taken up the post as CEO to lead the company forward.
Co-founder and chief operating officer (COO) Susan Lang-Bissell has stepped down from her executive and board role. Widely credited with turning Sunamp from a fledgling start-up into a global enterprise by scaling operations, she will now focus on bringing her proven track record in navigating complex challenges into new non-executive appointments and opportunities.
Grant brings a successful track record of driving growth for tech businesses in the energy sector, in senior leadership roles with Aggreko, and subsequently leading high-growth potential businesses and helping them scale rapidly in Renewables and Energy Transition as well as SaaS, Tech, Software and Industrial Services.
Commenting on the leadership transition, Andrew said: “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built at Sunamp over the past 15 years. From day one, our mission has been clear which is to tackle climate change by transforming how heat is generated, stored and used. We’ve done this through innovation which has resulted in the development of Thermino ultra compact thermal batteries using our Plentigrade proprietary phase change materials that are today installed in tens of thousands of homes improving comfort, cutting energy use and carbon emissions. I remain deeply committed to the company’s success and will continue to support Grant and the executive team as a member of the Board.”
