Sunamp strengthens leadership with chief commercial officer appointment as it prepares to enter industrial thermal storage market

Edinburgh, 23 March 2026; Sunamp, the world leader in phase change material (PCM) thermal storage technologies, today announced the appointment of Dr. Maurizio Zaglio as chief commercial officer (CCO). The appointment marks a pivotal moment for the company as it prepares to unveil its new industrial scale thermal storage solution at MCE Mostra Convegno Expocomfort in Milan this week.

Maurizio, who has spent more than a decade at Sunamp in senior commercial and technical leadership roles, brings deep expertise in renewable energy systems, international expansion and strategic partnerships. His background spans mechanical and chemical engineering, a Ph.D. from ETH Zürich and extensive experience driving Sunamp’s growth across Europe, China, and North America.

In his new role, he will lead Sunamp’s global revenue strategy, overseeing sales, partnerships and market development as the company scales its next generation of PCM based thermal storage technologies.

Maurizio has played a central role in developing Sunamp’s international presence, establishing key OEM relationships and commercialising the company’s award winning PCM heat battery technology. His leadership has helped position Sunamp as a trusted partner in the global transition to low carbon heating and cooling.

Sunamp will unveil its new industrial scale PCM thermal storage system at MCE Mostra Convegno Expocomfort in Milan next week (24th – 27th March). Designed to support decarbonisation heat across manufacturing, district energy and commercial applications, the product represents a major expansion of Sunamp’s portfolio beyond residential hot water.

The launch underscores Sunamp’s commitment to delivering high performance, compact and long life thermal storage solutions that reduce energy consumption, cut emissions and support electrification and adoption of renewables.

Sunamp is the world leader in PCM thermal storage having installed almost 40,000 heat batteries in homes since it ramped up commercial sales in 2018, representing around 250 MWh of stored thermal energy.
