Edinburgh, Scotland: Sunamp has been granted Canadian patent number 3,107,495 for its phase change material (PCM) heat battery technology. It is the latest addition to the company’s international intellectual property portfolio protecting its globally competitive clean-energy technology.
The award further strengthens protection for one of Sunamp’s core technologies and completes patent coverage across North America, with corresponding protection already secured in the United States and Mexico. The patent covers the integration of the electric heating element within the heat battery, a key innovation underpinning Sunamp’s Thermino range of heat batteries for domestic hot water.
Sunamp’s compact heat batteries use patented phase change material technology to store energy at far greater density than conventional hot water cylinders, delivering hot water when required while helping customers make better use of low-carbon and lower cost electricity.
