Sunamp today announced a new partnership with Eco Edge Solutions to bring its Thermino line of compact thermal storage batteries to the United States. The partnership will make it easier for building owners, MEP engineers, and consultants to electrify hot water systems, reduce emissions, and comply with tightening building performance regulations such as New York City’s Local Law 97.
Thermino heat batteries use Sunamp’s proprietary Plentigrade® phase-change material (PCM) to store heat and deliver hot water on demand, offering a pathway to electrification without the need for oversized tanks or costly infrastructure upgrades.
A standout feature for U.S. buildings is Thermino’s compact size, especially important in New York City, and its low-amperage built-in coil option. Designed to run on a standard 20-amp breaker, this option enables fast, on-demand hot water while avoiding expensive service upgrades, giving engineers greater flexibility in system design and helping owners electrify without major disruption.
Tom Sottile, North America general manager for Sunamp, welcomed the partnership:
“Eco Edge Solutions brings deep expertise in U.S. building performance and electrification projects, making them an ideal partner to introduce our Thermino heat battery technology. This agreement is a major step in our U.S. rollout, giving building owners practical tools to cut emissions, reclaim space, and reduce costs. By working together, we can accelerate the adoption of Sunamp’s technology and help cities like New York achieve their climate goals faster.”
With Eco Edge Solutions providing distribution, technical support, and training, Thermino is available now for multifamily, commercial, and institutional projects across the U.S. MEP engineers and consultants can begin specifying Thermino into designs immediately, confident in a solution that delivers efficiency, reliability, and compliance.
