Sunamp is pleased to sponsor the Retrofit 25 exhibition at the Building Centre in London, running now until 19 September 2025 in partnership with the National Retrofit Hub.
The theme for Retrofit 25 is ‘What’s stopping us?’, highlighting how we can overcome the barriers to retrofit through practical and innovative solutions.
Our Thermino heat batteries are a great fit for this theme. In many cases, finding space for a hot water cylinder is a barrier for specifiers and social landlords looking to retrofit properties with a low-carbon heating system.
Thermino heat batteries make this possible. They are up to four times smaller than the equivalent hot water cylinder, tried and tested in space-constrained homes, with the flexibility to work with a range of energy sources.

As part of Retrofit 25, we are showcasing just one of many game-changing projects using Thermino heat batteries.
In Thurrock, Thermino heat batteries have been installed alongside networked Kensa Shoebox ground source heat pumps in 273 social housing flats. Previously the flats were heated by old storage heaters, leaving residents struggling with high energy costs of up to £3,000 a year for heating and hot water.
The project has been transformational for Thurrock tenants, cutting energy bills by an estimated 67% and reducing carbon emissions by 70%.
Specifiers working on similar retrofit projects are encouraged to consider Thermino heat batteries as a space-saving alternative to hot water cylinders, helping cut carbon emissions, meet energy efficiency standards and boost resident satisfaction.
