Frankfurt, 20 March 2025 – Sunamp, a global leader in thermal storage technology, has announced that its Thermino xPlus heat battery is now fully compatible with NIBE’s S2125 R290 heat pump series. This integration eliminates the need for a traditional hot water cylinder, delivering a more compact, efficient, and flexible heating solution for homes.
Sunamp’s Optimino key technology enables seamless integration with NIBE S2125 R290 heat pumps, optimising system performance while significantly reducing space requirements. By replacing bulky hot water storage with a highly compact thermal battery, this breakthrough opens up new opportunities for heat pump adoption—especially in properties where space constraints have been a challenge.
Catalina Dobas, Thermino product owner at Sunamp, commented:
“This is a game-changer for heat pump adoption. By integrating our Thermino xPlus heat battery with NIBE’s high performance S2125 R290 heat pumps, we make installation easier and free up valuable space in homes. This collaboration removes a key barrier to wider heat pump adoption in homes – finding space for large heat pump hot water cylinders – helping more households transition to low-carbon, net-zero heating solutions.”
For specifiers, this integration offers greater design flexibility, making it easier to incorporate renewable heating into both new-build and retrofit projects. The Thermino xPlus heat battery is designed for seamless, plug-and-play installation, reducing complexity and improving overall system efficiency.
