Sunamp has been named as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Heat Networks and Electricity Generation Assets (HELGA) agreement.
Using its patented phase change material, Sunlamp’s game-changing heat battery technology is already replacing hot water cylinders to cut fuel costs and carbon emissions in thousands of homes across the UK and Europe. The manufacturer’s super compact, high energy density reserves store energy from renewable and other sources and release it as heat to deliver hot water and space heating when required. As well as residential use, the heat batteries have large scale commercial and industrial applications to drive down energy consumption and carbon emissions for heating and cooling.
CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. The HELGA Agreement, which uses a Dynamic Purchasing System will help public bodies find the right suppliers for solar panels, wind turbines, heat networks, battery storage and more to increase the uptake of renewable energy and reduce the environmental impact of the public sector.
“We are delighted to have secured our place on the HELGA agreement and to have the opportunity to participate in competitions where our heat and cool reserves can deliver health benefits, real efficiencies and carbon reduction in the built environment as we move towards degasification and net zero,” said Sunamp CEO Andrew Bissell.
“One of the biggest challenges Government faces in tackling climate change is decarbonising heat and we have a mature product that is proven to save energy, help with grid intermittency and improve consumer comfort. Sunamp is the only manufacturer in the world to be awarded A Grade RAL Certification, the only global standard for Phase Change Material products confirming that our heat batteries can complete 10,000 cycles without degradation of our PCM material. This means specifiers can have confidence in the durability of an innovative product that is compatible with every kind of heating apparatus, HVAC system and renewable, storing four times more heat than hot water tanks of the same size.”
Sunamp is offering services in the Commoditised Products (Electricity) service area for the supply of battery storage packs and charge controllers.
